I thought I would try out the monthly favorites post (with a year-end roundup coming up soon, too).
#1 – MAC Powder Blush in Dame
I had read about this blush before a makeup artist used this on me at a MAC store, so I was really pleased to now have an excuse to buy it. This beautiful, cool-toned, pale pink blush does it all. It looks perfect with fuchsia lipsticks. It looks perfect with purple-toned lipsticks. It looks perfect with red lipsticks (like this look, here).
Simply because it gives you the perfect flushed, pink-cheeked look. And isn’t that what everyone wants?!
#2 – Surratt Autographique Liner in Chat Noir
I have already waxed poetic about this liquid liner at length, but considering I have used it nearly every day since I bought it, there’s no way it wasn’t making this list!
#3 and #5 – Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Bad to the Bronze + MAC Eyeshadow in All That Glitters
I should have planned this photo better, so it worked numberwise, but, ah well. 🙂 It doesn’t take away from these great products.
I picked up the Maybelline after seeing the British equivalent on Kate of gh0stparties. It was a beautiful, cool-toned taupe, which seemed idea for me, since anything gold or bronzey turns very yellow on me.
I bought All That Glitters to use with another eyeshadow color, but since it had been used to pat on top and add a golden sheen, I thought I would try it with the Bad to the Bronze, just to add a little extra oomph, and boy did it. This combination is killer. (You can see it in action here.)
#4 – Smashbox Fade to Black Waterproof Shadow Liner in Black Gold
I thought this color was sold out everywhere, but it’s still available at Macy’s. This is a beautiful “old gold” color that I use to line my bottom waterline, which makes my eyes just glow. The formula is great and stays put all day. It’s a good alternative to black for the lower lash line when you’re doing a cat eye or other dramatic liner. I’ve pretty much worn it every day along with the Surratt liquid liner.
A good alternative is Jouer Creme Eyeshadow Crayon in Baroque. (You can see it in action here and here.)
So those are my December favorites! What have been your favorite products this month?
