Awards season is my favorite! Obviously, not for the awards themselves or the speeches, but THE DRESSES.
So here is a roundup of my favorites from this Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, in no particular order.

Apparently I’m in the minority, but I LOVED this gown. Loved how interesting it was and the colors. And I thought she looked freaking stunning. Her makeup was flawless. I want every bit of it.

I didn’t see her on the red carpet, and only saw her top half when they did the nominees, but this is so lovely! I’m not used to her as a brunette, but I think I like it!

Ugh, so feminine and gorgeous. And I adore bright colored jewels with basic colors.

I adore Amy, too, but this one stole the battle for me on the red carpet. I guess I like classic gowns!

And yet, I love this! I didn’t at first, but it really grew on me. It’s kind of really fabulous.

Queen Cate. She is just perfection. The dress. The hair. The jewelry. The speech. Bow down, bitches!

Again, I’m in the minority, but I really liked this. It was so pretty and feminine, and so her.

Another one I did not see on the red carpet, and just in her seat while the nominees were read. At the time, I thought how gorgeous her hair and makeup looked, and then later I saw her dress. Wow.

I don’t know what people said about this one, but <3 <3.

To be fair, I don’t adore the dress, but her hair and makeup! Peggy looks so adorable! (I want her lipstick!!)

She’s looking quite the lady in this one! But quite approachable.

I don’t know who she is, but I like her stylist’s style!!

For the life of me, I do not get how the people on Downton Abbey make someone this adorably pretty look so unattractive on that show! But she looks gorgeous here!

This color looks AMAZING on her. And the makeup is a perfect complement. I think she looks gorgeous.

I couldn’t find who this was by, and I admit that the top is just a disaster, but I love it from the bodice down, and she just looks so pretty!

The parodies of her dress were all spot on and it didn’t do much for me, but I have forever been a fan of her pixie cut, and I think her makeup was flawless and of course I love the brightly colored earrings. I immediately declared that I needed her lipstick, and luckily, now I can get it!
Also, all of this. ALL OF THIS.
And just for good measure…

You know, for fair play. 😉
I did not like:
Amy Adams, Julia Roberts, Julie Bowen (liked the concept, with the color combination, but not the execution), Emma Watson (I loved that she went edgy, but did not like the actual “dress”), Zooey Deschanel.
But if I can grow up to be Emma Thompson, my life will have been well lived.
(THE HAIR, THOUGH. WHY?!?!)
What were your favorites? Which ones did you hate?
Enjoyed this post? You’ll enjoy following me on Bloglovin’ even more! 😉
Emma Thompson is my actual queen I cannot at her! And I Sophie Vergara/Lupita Nyong'o/Cate Blanchett/Julie Delpy/Michelle Dockery all NAILED it for me. And I actually REALLY liked Julia Roberts's dress. I know most people didn't, but I liked it, though for me I would have done a sleeveless white top and then a bow tie. BECAUSE THIS IS ME WE"RE TALKING ABOUT.
I just want to take Emma aside and tell her that between us girls, her hair aged her way too much and please fix that.
Julia Roberts was dressed the way a lot of the people in my community dress, except they add shirts under things for religious modesty reasons. It looks ridiculous to me on all parties! But I'm sure you'd rock it. 😉
I thought Greta Gerwig was Emmy Rossum in that pic!
I only know it's her because DKNY tweeted the photo! It doesn't look like her from that angle with that hair at all.
I didn't watch it but I adore Kaley's dress, although I am not struck on the top, the over all look is so good, I do think some of the younger stars age aged a little by the large gowns but this a good inbetween and looks fresh and young

I just thought the print was so, so lovely. I don't even know what anyone else thought about it, I just loved it!
I mostly agree. I also loved Sandra's dress! Cate was stunning. Tina Fey and Drew Barrymore looked lovely, but I am not into the whole floral pattern thing. Though Jennifer's face looked flawless, and the earrings were pretty, I thought they were too edgy for what she was wearing, and for the occasion. Oh, and thanks for the eye candy you provided there at the end. CHRIS PINE:)))
Yayyyyy you commented!!! 😀 😀
I just decided since I didn't like Jennifer's dress that I would ignore everything below her chin, so the earrings were fine with me. 😉 And CHRIS PINE. The end. 😀
you are sooo right, award season is fashion season! love the dress!!! What a pity that I will never get an award, guess I have to find another excuse to wear dresses like that one day (another exucse than no money, of course)
love cate blanchett; she's so elegant, no vulgar at all. Drew however…Hmmmm I don't know, i mean i love flowers and stuff but this is a bit too much for me I think… I am not convinced lol
greetings from paris! 🙂
My recent post Chapeau!
Salut! Merci merci merci pour ton commentaire! If I could, I would give you the award for the most adorable thing I have ever seen! (I just looked at your blog. I will be following. 🙂 ) Ha, I know, it kills me that I will never be able to afford a dress like that. I wouldn't care where to wear it, I would just wear it in my house!
I know, most people did not like Drew's dress. I thought it was very her, though. Yesterday my friend found a photo of Adèle Exarchopoulos, and we don't understand why no one showed her, Bizes!
