I know that I haven’t really featured any lifestyle/life in NY posts lately. I guess that’s what happens when you get a job. With terrible hours. That’s not in Manhattan. I really haven’t done anything or gone anywhere. I didn’t even think that the area was a good place to photography my outfits, till someone told me that grungy industrial provides a good backdrop for “fashion.”
You tell me!
I loved the grey background for this outfit. It was just too cold outside to NOT wear any kind of jacket, but my down puffer coat is on the ground out of view!
To be honest, I knew I was going to a bar after work called Isle of Skye, so I wore the tartan skirt on purpose. But the tartan scarf/blanket was because it was so cold that day, I needed it! It fit the persona, though!
Where I attempt to do a jig/Riverdance…or something…
This is how it ends up. (Not well.)
Basically, the only part of my outfit that is buyable is the black sweater I finally bought, the Everlane Seed Stitch Box Cut Sweater. Everything else is old and/or sold out/bought at an outdoor market.
The skirt is a purchase from Primark from several years ago. People think I’m nuts for insisting on a visit to a Primark whenever I’m in the UK, but seriously, seriously, this is years later, I’m still wearing it, and I’m still getting compliments on it! Same with so many of my Primark pieces. I should just be amazed they haven’t fallen apart or caught fire yet!

Considering my obsession with Scotland and my love of single-malt Scotch (but I naturally just call it whisky [no e, thank you!]), when I found out there was a whisky bar called Isle of Skye that opened up in Brooklyn, it was only a matter of time until I wound up there. (It’s out of the way, or I’d be there EVERY night!)
The whisky menu is extensive and droolworthy, as is their beer menu! And they have cocktails and all the regulars as well.
AND they have TWO kinds of Innis & Gunn for when I get tired of paying through the nose for the good stuff.
I intended to take many photos of the bar and our festivities, but then the pub trivia started. My friend Danielle (who also took the photos of me) called our team “Electric Vulvas,” which one us a free shot. AND we also won the trivia! I mean, I thought I hated pub trivia, but there I was insisting we whisper so the team we were tied with, sitting right next to us, couldn’t hear our answers. We all turn into Monica from FRIENDS when competition arises, I guess!
However, I loved it there, and should you find yourself in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, you should look it up!

You need a sporran 😉
Which awesome lipstick are you wearing?
My friend Sean has one. I should borrow it next time. 😉
It's MAC All Fired Up—this is the same looks as the FOTD I posted on Tuesday. 🙂
This is super cute! I've been to Isle of Skye IRL and absolutely adored it there. Also — love the scarf but also the jacket! I've been looking for a cute fake leather motorcycle jacket and having a hard time with the cut and style. This one looks pretty badass.
I've been to the Isle of Skye twice. It is honestly one of my favorite places on the planet! Ah, well, this one is actually leather, and I also bought it a couple of years ago. I do love it!
I'm totally obsessed with tartan!
