I promised you a FOTD with Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Aubergine Velvet, and I’m giving it to you! You know, it’s all about building trust and all. 😉
I started out with Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow in Birthday Suit, a recent purchase (to complete the look I wrote about here) that I hadn’t mentioned. It’s a lovely champagne-y taupe color that works well on it’s own, too. (My oily lids still need NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Primer under “long-lasting eyeshadow.”) I applied it all over my lid and just into my crease.
Over that, I layered Burberry Pale Barley (unfortunately discontinued, but Chanel Ombre Essentielle Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Safari is a decent dupe), and it turned out so gorgeous and golden. I used MAC Satin Taupe Eyeshadow in the crease, and MAC Orb Eyeshadow on the upper lid and under the brow bone.
I tightlined with Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner in Violet Ink and made just a small wing at the very corners of my eyes. I also pressed this into the upper waterline (apply it from the under side my wiggling the brush into the lashline), and brought it down to the lower lashes just a touch. On the waterline, I used my Smashbox Fade to Black Waterproof Shadow Liner in Black Gold. I finished it off with L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara.
I wanted to keep the blush matte, so I used NARS Blush in Mata Hari. Then came MAC Vino Lip Pencil, and the final touch, Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Aubergine Velvet.
It occurred to me what an autumn-y look this is, but the golden eyes were so gorgeous, I can see it in the summer, too.
P.S. I realize today is April 1 and I haven’t done my March Favorites yet. I’m rethinking content right now and am unsure if I want to continue doing monthly favorites. You can read that on every other blog—I want to try and come up with something different! (I just don’t know what yet…)
