FOTD: Cynthia Rowley Beauty Spring Line in action

Affilier Gratuit

Hey guys, hope you had a good weekend. I’ve been super distracted by the huge global sports event currently occurring (no, not tennis), so I’m falling back on things I have ready to go. Sorry to repeat back to back Cynthia Rowley Beauty Spring Line posts, but what are you gonna do? Football calls!

Birchbloggers Cynthia Rowley Spring Beauty Line Event

Affilier Gratuit

cynthia rowley spring beauty line A couple of weeks ago, Birchbox, the monthly beauty box with the amazing points program,* hosted an event for their Birchbloggers at the Cynthia Rowley boutique. On display and for play was the Cynthia Rowley Spring Beauty Line. And I was one of the lucky few who won the entire collection to review.

Review: The Balm How ‘Bout Them Apples Palette

Affilier Gratuit

The Balm How 'Bout Them Apples Palette Birchbox’s program for bloggers, Birchbloggers (however did they come up with that name?! 😉 ), continues to impress me more than my monthly boxes did. I was lucky enough to win my third item for review, one that looked cute and adorable and I just wanted to have it, The Balm’s How ‘Bout Them Apples palette for cheeks and lips.

Review: OmniPotent Duosity Hair Treatment

Gratuit

One good thing about Birchbox is definitely their Birchbloggers program. I was lucky enough to win a full-sized OmniPotent Duosity Hair Treatment ($25), the second time I’ve been selected by them.

I may have played off of the, “I was unemployed for 5 months and my hair wasn’t cut for 6 months and I could use the hair treatment despite it finally being cut” angle, but hey, it worked! (No it didn’t. They must do these at random.)

And it’s true. Despite finally cutting my hair at the end of December, the very next day I was still seeing split ends. And I’m talking the kind of split ends that are so bad, you don’t realize the two strands you’re seeing are actually from one hair, because they go up so high. Most of these are on the ends of my hair that still have highlights in them, and I know the bleach damages hair, but I haven’t had it redone in over a year.

Anyway, I digress.

Review: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish – Unluckiest of the lucky ones

I know that it’s been a while since I received the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit that I won through Birchbloggers. You may or may not have been wondering about my review. Well, it’s finally ready.

Excited? 😉

Before I go any further, I do need to say that I feel truly thankful (heh, get it?) for having won this to try. It’s very hard writing a blog when you can’t afford new products to review. That’s probably why I took it as far as I did to really be able to give you a fair assessment.

The Liz Earle cleansing system works in two parts. The first step is the cream cleanser. Free from mineral oil, it contains naturally active ingredients, including eucalyptus and cocoa butter. It’s supposed to be a gentle cleanser, suited to all skin types, that still removes even the most stubborn of makeup. The second step is polishing with the muslin cloth. A gentle way to exfoliate your skin, it makes for a really lovely regimen.

Everything I’ve been reading about skin care lately has said to use cream-based cleansers, even if you have oily skin. Any cleanser that foams is supposed to be the devil. So this system definitely fits the bill.

Reviewing a cult product like this, one that has won over 90 beauty awards, one that so many people consider a holy grail product, you feel a certain burden of responsibility.

DSC_1289It’s just such a lovely system. Look at it.

It’s here! It’s here!

You may remember that I was supremely disappointed not to have gotten the Liz Earle sample in my October Birchbox. (In case you’re not familiar with it, Birchbox is a monthly subscription service where, for just $10 a month, you receive a box full of deluxe-sized and travel-sized samples. You receive Birchbox points for every purchase you make and every review your write, which can be redeemed in their store. Get your own here.)

My friend Rose  went on and on about her delight that these products were now available in the US, and she did get the sample. So did another friend of mine. And Lisa Eldridge recommends the products.

AND I HAVE NO MONEY AND CAN’T BUY IT AND DIDN’T GET IT IN MY BIRCHBOX.

So, basically, my life sucked. Right? Wrong!!

I had joined Birchbloggers, who, right after this all happened, had a giveaway of the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser Starter Kit. And the planets must have aligned (or they were doing damage control because I expressed my disappointment), because I was chosen as a winner! Serendipity!

And it took 3/4 of a month to get to me, but IT’S FINALLY HERE!!
