*blows off the dust*
Well, hello, there! I know that it’s been an age. I’ll spare you the uninteresting details of how my day job has sucked up my life, but I just couldn’t let my 1 year blogiversary pass without a post.*
And a post about my first New York Fashion Week event ever! Yes, I said ever. Despite being a lifelong New Yorker. Hey, better late than never, right? And what a way to start it off, with the Maison Kitsuné Spring/Summer 15 collection, in all its adorable Frenchness. How fitting, n’est-ce pas?!
A couple of weeks ago, Birchbox, the monthly beauty box with the amazing points program,* hosted an event for their Birchbloggers at the Cynthia Rowley boutique. On display and for play was the Cynthia Rowley Spring Beauty Line. And I was one of the lucky few who won the entire collection to review.
(*In case you’re not familiar with it, Birchbox is a monthly subscription service where, for just $10 a month, you receive a box full of deluxe-sized and travel-sized samples. You receive Birchbox points for every purchase you make and every review your write, which can be redeemed in their store. For every 100 points you earn, you get $10 a full-sized product order. Get your own here.)
The road to the store looks like wonderland…
When I started this blog, I mentioned that I was going to write about some of my favorite places in the world. My recent whirlwind 23-hour visit to Paris was a great place to start, since I knew I had to pop into Paperdolls boutique, one of my favorite places in Paris.
Believe it or not, even people who blog about beauty and fashion don’t always feel so creative when it comes to makeup or clothing combinations. Some days I’m just not feeling any of it. So it was a blessing the day that the Popbasic Ashbury Collection walked into my life.
*This entry has been prescheduled to post while I am out of the country, so if you comment and I don’t reply right away, that’s why.*
When you work in Long Island City and are looking for places to shoot an OOTD, your choices are pretty limited. The day these photos were taken, Danielle and I meandered over to what turned out to actually be Silvercup Studios. Luckily, no one kicked us out! Alas, I was not discovered, and am still working my day job. Le sigh.
What you can’t see is that the light above Stage B was lit, meaning they were taping behind there.
It will surprise no one that I like to shop. Or that I like to travel. Or that I like to shop while I’m traveling. Since I’m heading off to France (I know, again) in a week and a half, I thought I would write up a guide with everything I’ve learned about shopping overseas.

So, today’s edition is an amalgamation of two desires, one already expressed, and one found in the course of researching a different week’s.
Like everyone else, I’ve fallen for Léa Seydoux. Now that she’s collaborating with Miu Miu, I’m even more smitten.
What’s more beautiful, the woman or the clothing?!

Despite the fact that I have finally received my first paycheck (HURRAH!!!), my shopping still has to remain wishlists. I have things I need to do with my money first.
And buying a Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress is not one of them.
BUT LOOK AT IT.

It’s the DVF wrap dress taken to the next level. It’s just amazing.
I’m a big fan of mixing patterns, but I’m not that good at it. This is the perfect cheat! And I just adore the pop of color. And the flared skirt. UGH. SO PERFECT.
Do you guys like it? What are you lusting after this week?
