Celebrity Fashion Lust – Golden Globes 2015 Edition

I know, I know, that post never materialized, but you didn’t think I’d leave you hanging on the dresses?! Here’s my roundup of the celebrity fashion from the Golden Globes 2015.

From talking with people on Facebook last night, I know that some of my faves were not that popular, but, hey, this is my blog. 😉

Let’s start with the good:

Celebrity Fashion Golden Globes 2015 To be honest, I didn’t even know who Julia Goldani Telles was, but I just knew that I ADORED the color of her dress. I felt like, overall, there was a lot of blahness on the red carpet, and this Carmen Marc Valvo grabbed me immediately. (more…)

Wishlist Wednesday #25 – Delphine Manivet pour La Redoute Dress

So, today’s edition is an amalgamation of two desires, one already expressed, and one found in the course of researching a different week’s.

Celebrity Fashion Lust – Oscars Edition

You guys, I might be getting old, but I was pretty underwhelmed by Oscar fashion this year! Even the dresses that everyone else loved, even the ones that I liked, I wasn’t blown away by anything. Not really.

I really missed color! And even the dresses in color, I found the designs a bit “meh.” Sigh.

Good thing the show was hilarious enough to cure my disappointment!

The outfit post: Basic black sweater

I always joke that I could never be a Parisian/French woman, because I wear too much color. I so admire the minimalistic, neutral-color–wearing aesthetic that typifies Parisian style, I just don’t think I could ever pull it off long-term. (That’s why I adore reading Valentine and Naelle’s blogs, because they’re Parisians who dress however the hell they want to. 😉 )

Wishlist Wednesday #19 – Mrs. Pomeranz Dresses

If you know me at all, you would understand what my face looked like when I first found the Mrs. Pomeranz site.

*pause for you to go look*

Sometimes, Bloglovin’ is amazing. I found it through a blog that was recommended based on a different blog I had just followed. Convoluted? Yes. Kismet? Yes, indeed.

Here’s what the blog has to say about the company:

Mrs.Pomeranz is a small sewing studio located in London and Moscow. Specialized seamstresses create our beautiful, 1950s ’New Look Silhouette’ dresses from the highest quality English and Italian fabrics.
Mrs.Pomeranz was created by Dasha Pomeranz in 2009. Dasha collected 1950s dresses for several years. Running her vintage shop ‘Good Bye London’ helped Dasha realize that a classical 50-s silhouette is the most flattering cut of all: these are dresses that can make you feel a little prim and proper… but a lot more feminine! Dasha found that the demand for 50s dresses outstripped the amount of vintage gems available. So she decided to create new dresses inspired by the 50s. With her trusted constructor she carefully reworked original patterns to fit the modern female figure: vintage cuts don’t necessarily fit today’s women, they can be too full in the chest and too thin in the waist. But Mrs.Pomeranz’s dresses fit perfectly: the cut slims the figure, the length compliments the legs. Thus the ‘New Look’ collection was born: dresses full of vintage grace but with a contemporary feel.
We aim to make Mrs.Pomeranz’s dresses your favourite!

It’s all true. I couldn’t pick just one that I wanted, so I’m here to show you my top 3.

Celebrity Fashion Lust: Golden Globes Edition

Awards season is my favorite! Obviously, not for the awards themselves or the speeches, but THE DRESSES.

So here is a roundup of my favorites from this Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, in no particular order.

Apparently I’m in the minority, but I LOVED this gown. Loved how interesting it was and the colors. And I thought she looked freaking stunning. Her makeup was flawless. I want every bit of it.

Wishlist Wednesday #7

Okay, now. I’ve covered boots, jewelry, dresses, hats, makeup, and shoes. It’s time for purses!! (You know, all the basic food groups!)

I discovered the bags of French brand Tammy & Benjamin through a boutique that I adore in Paris. Shortly after that, I saw Valentine rocking one of their bags. (In fact, I found out about her blog when the company referred to that entry, and I’m glad I did!)

Lucky for me, they deliver to the US, with no problems at all. (As does Shop des Créateurs.) I just adore their vintage feel, combined with the amazing French craftsmanship. I currently own the Elizabeth in gold, the Petit Charlie in blue, and the Emma in black. But what I really want now is this:

TammyAndBenjamin_03_resize Just freaking look at it!!

Considering my current unemployed state and lack of fundage, the good news is, I can’t find this version of the Petit Charlie anywhere. The bad news is, I CAN’T FIND THIS VERSION OF THE PETIT CHARLIE ANYWHERE. It’s in their lookbook for the new collection, but it’s not on their site. Or Shop des Créateurs. I tweeted the company, but they did not respond.

IT HURTS MY SOUL THAT THIS BAG CANNOT BE MINE.

But, if I have to settle for a replacement, the yellow and black Petit Charlie is pretty spiffy, too. Still. *sniff*

How many purses are too many purses? And isn’t “sac à main” such a great term? What are you lusting after this week?

Wishlist Wednesday #3

Oh, Anthropologie, you are KILLING me. It’s not bad enough at least a third of my wardrobe originates from you (think of all the money!!). Now you had to release a Paris-themed October lookbook and mercilessly taunt my unemployed soul. I pretty much want everything. And to be back in Paris. But if I have to narrow it down to a single thing that I am craving more than any of the others…

Pinceau DressI mean, look at the back!!

It’s so ladylike, with retro touches, and a hint of edge. It’s my style encapsulated in a single dress.

Coming in a very close second is the Pixelated Fleur Dress. Sigh. Baby needs a job, vite!!

Which pieces caught your eye from the lookbook? What are you lusting after right now?
