Music Monday #26 – “Human” by Christina Perri

I know, “Human” by Christina Perri is an odd choice for me. I hate classifying songs like these as “guilty pleasures,” just because I usually tend towards less popular music. But I’m not a hipster, and I don’t care if I like things that are popular or uncool. And we should just be able to like what we like, without having to justify it.

I like this song. Nay, I love this song. It really hits a place in me that’s wounded right now, and I get choked up whenever I hear it. I think we all can relate to this song.

Music Monday #25 – “On leur a fait croire” by Alex Nevsky

I had written about how much I’ve loved Alex Nevksy’s latest album. Because of the language barrier, I obviously don’t get the nuances of the lyrics, so sometimes I listen without noticing. But just last week, this one stuck out to me. Hard.

“We’ve made them believe in love.” I know this song is dark, but sounds happy. And I like that.

Music Monday #21 – “You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette

I sang this song at karaoke on Saturday night, and was reminded what an incredible, amazing, cathartic song it is to sing along to at the top of your lungs.

Happy Monday, everyone.

Affilier Acheté

The Naked and Famous may have a new album out, but it’s still Passive Me, Aggressive You that so often comes up on my mp3 player. This one in particular gets stuck in my head all the time.

It’s a good anthem for a Monday.

I just saw Blue Is the Warmest Color yesterday, and this song stuck in my head from Adèle’s birthday party, so it’s what’s on my mind today.
